Statement of Community Involvement
A report prepared by the local planning authority that sets out its policies for involving the community in the preparation and review of Local Development Documents and decisions on planning applications. It is an essential part of the Local Development Framework which the authority is obliged to produce. The public are supposed to be involved in its preparation – in much the same way as for a Development Plan Document. For Regional Spatial Strategies a similar document is prepared, the Statement of Public Participation.
