Introduction
This section takes you through the policy context for affordable housing that provides the framework for affordable housing work. It looks at national guidance and takes that to a regional, sub regional and local context. It highlights the key documents that you should take account of when planning for and delivering affordable housing.
National, Regional and Local policies are all important, and create a web of information and sometimes complex requirements. When developing schemes it is important to demonstrate how they meet the principles set out in the various documents. However it is as important to have a good working knowledge of the local affordable housing policy and planning framework, and the questions below take you through the policy process map with logical guidance and questions.
