What progress has been made to date Regionally?

Current performance in terms of affordable housing delivery is below targets set within the Regional Spatial Strategy for up to 4,000 new affordable homes per annum. Up to date performance figures are summarised below:

It is clear from the data that the level of affordable housing completions represents a relatively low proportion of the total number of homes built; even in North Yorkshire, where affordable housing targets are high (40-50%) only 22% of homes delivered were affordable, with only 6.8% of those being non-grant funded units (from Section 106 agreements).

Future regional updates on affordable housing delivery will be available through the regional Government Office, Local Government Yorkshire and the Humber.

Information on affordable housing delivery is also available from local authority Housing Strategy Statistical Returns. Web link >>
